Softball Game Preview: Mount Miguel Matadors vs. Lincoln Hornets

The Mount Miguel Matadors will take on the Lincoln Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Mount Miguel put up the most runs they have all season on Monday. They blew past Hoover 21-5. The victory continues a trend for the Matadors in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won four in a row.

Mount Miguel got a massive performance out of A Sinsay, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Sinsay also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Lucy Talbot was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Mount Miguel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .861. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lincoln, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They walked away with an 11-8 win over Montgomery on Friday.

Lincoln's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Mount Miguel, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.

Mount Miguel was able to grind out a solid victory over Lincoln in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 12-7. Will the Matadors repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
