Baseball Game Preview: Crystal Springs Uplands Gryphons vs. Westmoor Rams

Crystal Springs Uplands and Westmoor are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2022, but likely not for long. The Gryphons will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Rams at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Crystal Springs Uplands has four straight victories, Westmoor has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Crystal Springs Uplands barely beat Pinewood the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Gryphons blew past the Panthers 10-1 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Gryphons, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Rohan Seiber was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nico Abad, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Westmoor came up short against Harker on Thursday, falling 12-1.

Westmoor saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was MJ Lim, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Crystal Springs Uplands' win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Westmoor, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Everything went Crystal Springs Uplands' way against Westmoor when the teams last played back in March, as Crystal Springs Uplands made off with a 6-0 win. Will the Gryphons repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
