Recap: Wheatland-Chili Wildcats vs. Kendall Eagles
The Wheatland-Chili Wildcats waltzed into their game on Wednesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They enjoyed a cozy 58-41 victory over Kendall. That's another feather in the cap for Wheatland-Chili, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leighton Williams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Wheatland-Chili's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anari Trotter, who scored 12 points.
Wheatland-Chili's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Kendall, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wheatland-Chili will take on Byron-Bergen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Byron-Bergen focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 back in December of 2023. As for Kendall, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Pavilion at 12:00 p.m.
