Softball Recap: Parkview Christian Academy Falcons vs. Plano Reapers
Parkview Christian Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 14 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-8 in the process. They lost 29-0 to the Plano Reapers. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 23-8 to the Reapers when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Plano, they moved to 5-10-1 with that win, which also ended their seven-game losing streak. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Plano's part, Chesney Schimandle was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Schimandle was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Plano got a massive performance out of Lindsey Cocks, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave Cocks a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Klein, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI.
Coming up, Parkview Christian Academy will head out on the road to take on Newark at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Plano, they will host Sandwich at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
