Basketball Recap: Thunderbird Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Thunderbird can now relate to. They fell 47-40 to the Amphitheater Panthers on Thursday.

Kayla Tuakalau continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Amphitheater, dropping a double-double with 17 points and ten boards. Tuakalau's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Monica Verrett, who posted nine points along with five assists and four steals.

Thunderbird's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Amphitheater, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-14 record this season.

As of now, neither Thunderbird nor Amphitheater have any future games scheduled.
