Volleyball Recap: Woodland Park Panthers vs. Lamar Thunder

Woodland Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Lamar Thunder. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Thunder from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

While Woodland Park ultimately came up short, they really made Lamar work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 26-24, 25-13.

Savannah Moeller paced Woodland Park's offense, picking up five kills. Moeller got some help from Jazmaine Slocum and her nine assists. Alexa Boring controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Kali Gonzales was the offensive standout of the contest as she had five digs and five aces. Those five aces gave her a new career-high.

Woodland Park's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Lamar, their win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1.

Woodland Park wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against SkyView Academy on the 2nd. As for Lamar, they will square off against Rye at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
