Basketball Recap: Nebraska Lutheran Takes a Loss

Nebraska Lutheran played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 66-39 loss at the hands of the Cross County Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Cougars are ranked 44th).

Nebraska Lutheran's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lukas Worster, who posted 15 points. Worster is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Bob Papik was another key player, putting up 11 points and six boards.

Nebraska Lutheran's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Cross County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nebraska Lutheran will take on Dorchester at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Nebraska Lutheran is facing Dorchester at the right time seeing as Dorchester is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Cross County, they will challenge High Plains at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
