Recap: Choctawhatchee Indians vs. Navarre Raiders
Even though the Navarre Raiders scored an imposing 75 points on Tuesday, the Choctawhatchee Indians still came out on top. Choctawhatchee skirted past Navarre 77-75. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Choctawhatchee has posted yet this season.
Choctawhatchee's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaac Hancey, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Hancey is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Keymaury1 Allen, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Navarre still got an impressive performance from Darius Cunningham, who dropped a double-double on 40 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 53.3% of Navarre's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. David Clearman was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
The win makes it two in a row for Choctawhatchee and bumps their season record up to 9-7. As for Navarre, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-9.
Choctawhatchee won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Booker T. Washington at 7:15 p.m. on January 17th. Booker T. Washington will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Navarre will take on Pace at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pace is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
