While Marshall's victory against Belleville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cardinals won by a run and slipped past the Wildcats 12-11. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cardinals needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Marshall's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Belleville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Coming up, Marshall will face off against Deerfield at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Demons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Cardinals' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Belleville, they will square off against Wisconsin Heights at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
