Football Recap: La Serna Comes Up Short

La Serna extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 2-4. They were beaten by the JSerra Catholic Lions 33-6. The Lancers were not able to make up for their loss to the Lions from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

As for JSerra Catholic, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 36.3 points this season.

JSerra Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Irwin, who picked up 43 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Kate Meier was another key signal caller, throwing for 97 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 84.6% of her passes.

La Serna wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 35-14 win against Brea Olinda on the 25th. As for JSerra Catholic, they have also already played their next match, a 19-0 victory against Carlsbad on the 23rd.
