Baseball Game Preview: Algonac Muskrats vs. Armada Tigers

The Algonac Muskrats will venture away from home to face off against the Armada Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Armada took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Algonac, who comes in off a win.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Algonac nor Imlay City made it on the board until the seventh inning. The Muskrats had just enough and edged out the Spartans 3-1. Surprisingly, this marked the Muskrats' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Meanwhile, Armada might've scored the first runs on Saturday, but it was Chippewa Valley who claimed the real prize. The Tigers fell just short of the Big Reds by a score of 6-4.

Algonac's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Armada, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6-1 record this season.

Algonac couldn't quite finish off Armada in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Muskrats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
