The Providence Grove Patriots will challenge the Eastern Randolph Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Providence Grove knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Eastern Randolph likes a good challenge.
Last Tuesday, Providence Grove didn't have too much trouble with Wheatmore as they won 71-54. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Providence Grove's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Will Dabbs, who posted 21 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds, and Andrew Thomas, who went 7-for-16 to rack up 19 points and three steals. Thomas' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Brady Collins, who scored 12 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.
Providence Grove smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eastern Randolph). They blew past Trinity 91-51 on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on four straight.
Eastern Randolph had a senior duo take command as Timothy Brower went 12-for-27 en route to 30 points along with six assists and six steals and Julian Brooks went 10-for-17 on his way to 23 points and eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brooks has scored all season. Cade McCallum was another key player, putting up seven points and four steals.
Eastern Randolph pushed their record up to 13-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.0 points over those games. As for Providence Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 11-12.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Providence Grove has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.7 boards per game. However, it's not like Eastern Randolph struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Providence Grove was dealt a bruising 83-32 loss at the hands of Eastern Randolph when the teams last played two weeks ago. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Brower, who almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine assists. Now that Providence Grove knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
