Sanderson not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since September 13, 2024 (when they won 68-0). They blew past the Riverside-Durham Pirates 63-26. The Spartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Pirates, too.

Keon Williams went supernova, rushing for 216 yards and two TDs while picking up 11.4 yards per carry. Those 216 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Gabe Rocha did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 126 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sanderson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 303 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Riverside-Durham only rushed for one rushing yard.

Despite the loss, Riverside-Durham still got an impressive performance from Taylen Lea, who picked up 116 receiving yards and one score.

Sanderson has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 38.0 points this season. As for Riverside-Durham, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Sanderson will look to defend their home field on Friday against Broughton at 7:00 p.m. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 943 yards in their previous games. As for Riverside-Durham, they will venture away from home to challenge Person at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
