Baseball Recap: King Mustangs vs. Laredo LBJ Wolves
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask King). They came out on top against the Laredo LBJ Wolves by a score of 4-1 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.
Aidan Reyes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Reyes was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other batting news, Ethan Gamez was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Grant Hoogland, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
King's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2-1. As for Laredo LBJ, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
King's road trip will continue as they head out to face Floresville at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday.
