Recap: Brookstone Cougars vs. Strong Rock Christian Patriots
The Brookstone Cougars entered their tilt with the Strong Rock Christian Patriots with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Brookstone walked away with a 45-35 victory over Strong Rock Christian on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Brookstone, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Brookstone was led to victory by Chapman Dykes and Thomas Henderson. Dykes scored 14 points, while Henderson scored 16 points.
Despite the loss, Strong Rock Christian still got an impressive performance from Zack Phillips, who scored 22 points along with three steals. That was a full 62.9% of Strong Rock Christian's points, marking the 15th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Brookstone pushed their record up to 11-6 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Strong Rock Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-2.
Brookstone will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Heritage at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Heritage focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight last Monday. As for Strong Rock Christian, they will play host again and welcome St. Mary's Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Mary's Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 486th, while Strong Rock Christian is ranked 156th).
