The Annapolis Christian Academy Warriors will square off against Grayson Christian at TBD on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
With a playoff game on the line, Annapolis Christian Academy rose to the challenge on Saturday. They put the hurt on San Antonio Prep with a sharp 50-26 victory. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Annapolis Christian Academy had established a 22 point advantage.
Annapolis Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jacob Segundo out in front who rushed for 70 yards and two touchdowns, and also caught a touchdown. Blake Kenyon was another key contributor, gaining 101 total yards and three touchdowns.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Annapolis Christian Academy, adding 14 points to the final score. All those points came courtesy of Cesar Morales: he added 12 points with four field goals.
Grayson Christian never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Cristo Rey Jesuit last Saturday. They claimed a resounding 60-14 win over the Lions at home. Given Grayson Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 156th, while Cristo Rey Jesuit is ranked 1171st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Their wins bumped Annapolis Christian Academy to 7-2 and Grayson Christian to 5-4.
