Volleyball Game Preview: Hernando Leopards vs. Merritt Island Mustangs + Official Tickets

After both having extra time off, the Hernando Leopards and the Merritt Island Mustangs will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Hernando heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Thursday. They fell just short of Weeki Wachee by a score of 3-2. The Leopards' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Hernando's loss came about despite a quality game from Carlie Grant, who had 30 digs and two aces. Grant has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Knierim, who had 15 digs.

Meanwhile, Merritt Island had already won 18 in a row and they went ahead and made it 19 on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Scorpions with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Hernando better keep an eye on Sarah Niazi. She was instrumental in Merritt Island's win, getting 22 digs and two aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Khloe Horton, who had ten digs and one assist.

Hernando's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Merritt Island, their win bumped their record up to 25-2.
