Baseball Recap: Bullard Comes Up Short

It was a good run, but Bullard unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Spring Hill by a score of 5-4. Bullard was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Spring Hill earlier this season, when they won 1-0.

Bullard got a good showing from Kord Korenek, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the first time Korenek hasn't allowed a single earned run since back in February.

At the plate, Bullard saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Roberts, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Ty Rigsby was another, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Bullard's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Spring Hill, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-4-2.

Bullard and Spring Hill should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Panthers will challenge Center at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (88 vs. 350). Meanwhile, Spring Hill (ranked 240th) will meet Pine Tree (ranked 842nd) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
