Football Game Preview: Ledford Panthers vs. Montgomery Central Timberwolves

The Ledford Panthers will face off against the Montgomery Central Timberwolves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Montgomery Central took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Ledford, who comes in off a win.

Ledford is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 46-0 win over High Point Central. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their eight-point performance the matchup before.

Dominique Arthur had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 139 yards and four TDs while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. Ledford is 2-1 when Arthur posts 100 or more rushing yards, but 0-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tyson Chavis, who gained 72 total yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Montgomery Central was just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 22-21 to Randleman. The Timberwolves have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Montgomery Central's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Ledford, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5.

Ledford came up short against Montgomery Central in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 35-28. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
