Harrison County waltzed into their match on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Montgomery County Indians. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Thorobreds/Fillies have posted against the Indians since May 30, 2016.

Cooper Slade spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on 15 hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Blake Green, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Brian Vaughn was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Harrison County's win bumped their record up to 34-5-1. As for Montgomery County, their loss dropped their record down to 20-14.
