Montrose put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Fruita Monument Wildcats. That's more bragging rights for the Red Hawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While Montrose won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-14, 25-18.

Reina Contreras was the offensive standout of the contest as she had seven digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last seven matchups. Maggie Legg also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Montrose was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive games.

Montrose's victory bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Fruita Monument, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Coincidentally, Montrose and Fruita Monument will both be playing Durango the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will host the Demons at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Red Hawks will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
