Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Woodlands Academy). They were the clear victors by an 18-10 margin over the Northtown Pumas on Tuesday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Pumas recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Evie Twohig and Sara Bult did most of the damage at the plate: Twohig got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs, while Bult got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. What's more, Twohig posted three hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Savannah Gamache also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Woodlands Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Woodlands Academy now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Northtown, they moved to 4-7 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodlands Academy will square off against Regina Dominican at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Northtown, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus at 4:30 p.m. on the 16th.
