Bastrop strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They took their game with ease, bagging a 70-6 win over the Pflugerville Panthers. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 56-6.

Leading Bastrop to victory were Weston Nielsen and Gary Jefferson Jr.. Nielsen threw for 252 yards and six TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes, while Jefferson Jr. gained 211 total yards and three touchdowns. Nielsen was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 67 yards. Diego Rangel was Nielsen's top target, picking up 80 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Bastrop was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 314 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 198 rushing yards in five consecutive contests.

Bastrop's record now sits at 9-0. As for Pflugerville, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bastrop is set to face off against their familiar foe Liberty Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,035 yards in their previous games. Meanwhile, Pflugerville will take on rival Pflugerville Connally at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Cole Taylor and Jase Watkins.
