Volleyball Recap: West Springfield Triumphs

West Springfield posted their closest win since May 9, 2025 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Minnechaug Regional Falcons 3-2. The Terriers haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

West Springfield had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 20-25, 25-18, 25-12, 17-15.

West Springfield can attribute much of their success to Daniel Shandrin, who had 15 digs and five assists. Those five assists gave Shandrin a new career-high.

West Springfield was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They are 2-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

The win got West Springfield back to even at 3-3. As for Minnechaug Regional, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

West Springfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Frontier Regional on the 16th. Minnechaug Regional has also already played their next match (against Ludlow), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
