Volleyball Preview: Puyallup Vikings vs. Curtis Vikings

Puyallup has been away from home for two games now, but on Monday they'll finally make their return. They will welcome the Curtis Vikings at 7:15 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Puyallup sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Cascade Christian.

Puyallup took Cascade Christian into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-15, 22-25, 25-27, 15-11.

Reese Sheppard had a dynamite game for Puyallup, getting 18 digs and 34 assists. Sheppard is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted eight or more in the last 29 games she's played dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Curtis entered their tilt with Emerald Ridge on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Jaguars.

Curtis was generally in control, but really had to dig deep in the second set to get the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 26-24, 25-15.

Puyallup now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Curtis, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
