Saturday just wasn't the day for Jefferson's offense. They fell 3-0 to the Morgantown Mohigans on Saturday. The Cougars' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Andrew Engle was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed over his last four matchups.

On the hitting side, Jefferson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Serf Guerra, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Morgantown, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-6.

Jefferson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-2 victory against Bridgeport on the 12th. As for Morgantown, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against John Marshall at 5:30 p.m. The Mohigans are facing the Monarchs at the right time seeing as the Monarchs are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
