Eastern Greene takes loss despite strong efforts from Bianca Wyatt and Keylee Hudson

Recap: Eastern Greene Thunderbirds vs. Barr-Reeve Vikings

The Eastern Greene Thunderbirds were the 48-26 winner over the Barr-Reeve Vikings when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Eastern Greene took a 49-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Barr-Reeve on Tuesday. Eastern Greene has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Eastern Greene's loss came despite strong showings from Keylee Hudson and Bianca Wyatt. Hudson scored 18 points along with two blocks, while Wyatt scored 15 points along with two steals. Wyatt is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Eastern Greene struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Barr-Reeve racked up 11 assists.

Barr-Reeve's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hannah Bledsoe led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Bledsoe's trending in the right direction, as she's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava B Carter, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.

Eastern Greene's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Barr-Reeve, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.

Eastern Greene will square off against South Knox at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. South Knox presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Eastern Greene in Indiana (South Knox is ranked 19th, while Eastern Greene is ranked 181st). As for Barr-Reeve, they will square off against Loogootee at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
