Hinsdale Central had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Oak Park-River Forest Huskies with a sharp 8-2 victory. This was a revenge game for the Red Devils: when they faced off against the Huskies two weeks ago, they had to take a 5-4 loss.

Hinsdale Central's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-15. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Oak Park-River Forest, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-9.
