Softball Recap: Lincoln Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Lincoln came tearing into Thursday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Watertown Arrows a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Patriots have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Lincoln pushed their record up to 16-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Watertown, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.

Coming up, Lincoln will face off against Brookings at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Watertown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
