Football Recap: Hillcrest Takes a Loss

Hillcrest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 14-13 heartbreaker at the hands of the La Sierra Eagles. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Hillcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5-1. As for La Sierra, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Hillcrest will venture away from home to take on Upland at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Highlanders/Scots' defense has only allowed 8.5 points per game this season, so the Trojans' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for La Sierra, they will host Centennial at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Eagles 12.6, the Huskies 14.5) so any points scored will be well earned.
