Basketball Recap: Brooks Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when Brooks duked it out with Thornwood on Friday. The Brooks Eagles took a 54-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thornwood Thunderbirds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Thornwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mekhi Young, who went 6 of 14 en route to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lester Watson, who posted ten points in addition to eight boards and five assists.

Brooks' loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Thornwood, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-15.

Coming up, Brooks will head out to challenge Lake View at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Lake View is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season. As for Thornwood, they will welcome Oak Lawn at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oak Lawn knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully Thornwood likes a good challenge.
