Softball Recap: Lake Weir Falls Short of Mount Dora in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lake Weir can now relate to. They lost 7-1 to Mount Dora on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Mount Dora this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on April 8th.

Lake Weir saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was G Weidenbacher, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles. Kyra Rigozzi was another, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Lake Weir dropped their record down to 4-22 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Mount Dora, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-12 record.

Lake Weir does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mount Dora, they will challenge Eustis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
