 Jefferson came tearing into  Thursday's  match with three straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lincoln Lynx  and snuck past  4-3. That's two games straight that Jefferson has won by  just one  run.
 Jefferson got a great performance from  Emily Loots as she  struck out seven batters over  six innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   seven  hits. Loots has been consistent recently: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate,  Rylee Perrine was  excellent,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Cara Ronk, who  went 1-for-3 with three  RBI and a  double.
 On Lincoln's side,  Hanna Ferguson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned  (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.
 On the hitting side,  Kelsi Nelson and  Izzy Miller did some serious damage despite the final result:  Nelson  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 3-for-4, while  Miller  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Jefferson has  been performing  well recently as they've  won six of their last eight matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 15-13 record  this season. As for Lincoln, their loss was  their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 2-22.
 Jefferson will look to defend their home field  on Monday against Le Mars at 4:00  p.m. Le Mars' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2  runs per game  this season, so Jefferson's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lincoln, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Sioux City North at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday. Sioux City North will roll in looking for their  13th straight  victory, something Lincoln surely won't give up without a fight.
