Preview: Clear Spring Blazers vs. Williamsport Wildcats
Clear Spring is 2-8 against Williamsport since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Clear Spring Blazers will head out on the road to face off against the Williamsport Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Clear Spring had to start their season on the road last Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were beaten by South Hagerstown 79-15.
Meanwhile, Williamsport pushed their score all the way to 61 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 78-61 bruising from Smithsburg. Williamsport has struggled against Smithsburg recently, as their game on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ceonta Wilmore, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. He scored a full 26.2% of Williamsport's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Kriner, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Clear Spring's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Williamsport, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
Clear Spring couldn't quite finish off Williamsport when the teams last played back in January and fell 55-53. Can Clear Spring avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
