Softball Recap: Box Elder Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Box Elder faced Grantsville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Box Elder came out on top against Grantsville by a score of 6-3. The Bees' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Kennadie Blackmer made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Kailee Hall was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Rayden Roberts also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Box Elder's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.9 runs over those games. As for Grantsville, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Coming up, Box Elder will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Northridge at 3:30 p.m. As for Grantsville, they are taking a road trip to square off against Tooele at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
