            Football Recap: Dupo Tigers vs. Chester Yellowjackets        
        
		
        
        
            If Dupo was riding high  fresh off their  56-14 takedown of Red Bud last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers were just a  hair shy of victory  on Friday and fell  38-37 to the Chester Yellowjackets. The  loss   continues a  trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Yellowjackets: they've now lost four in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Dupo lost, don't look at  Deegan Prater. Despite the final result, he threw for 316 yards and three  touchdowns, and also punched in one  score on the ground. Prater is  on a roll when it comes to  passing touchdowns, as he's  now  passed for three or more in each of the last three games he's  played.  Brady Portell got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.
 Even if they lost, Dupo's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In that department,  Shia Owensby was the leader with two.
  Trayton Peters had another great game (as  he tends to do), throwing for 188 yards and three  TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushing for 37 yards and one  score for Chester. Another player making a difference was  Tashawn Palacio, who picked up 153 receiving yards and one  touchdown.
Having lost for the first time  this season, Dupo  fell to 6-1. As for Chester, the  victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Dupo will  take on  rival Sparta/Steeleville  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Chester is set to  face off against  their familiar foe Red Bud  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
