Basketball Recap: Central's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Calipatria wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Central, they should've done a better job of containing Daimaggio Wyatt. The Central Spartans came out on top against the Calipatria Hornets by a score of 65-54 on Friday thanks in part to Wyatt, who went 9 of 15 en route to 20 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Those three blocks gave him a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of James Tovar, who posted six points and six boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games he's played.

The win made it two in a row for Central and bumps their season record up to 11-7. As for Calipatria, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
