Football Game Preview: Commerce Tigers vs. Grandview Zebras

The Commerce Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Grandview Zebras at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Commerce is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 54-47 win over Pilot Point. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Commerce to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aidan Brown, who threw for 259 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 86 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine carries. Another rusher making a difference was Ky'mani Graham, who rushed for 197 yards and one score while picking up 10.9 yards per carry.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Commerce was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 286 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 180 rushing yards in 16 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Grandview beat Gladewater 55-42 on Friday.

Commerce's record now sits at 9-2. As for Grandview, their record is now 10-2.
