Baseball Game Preview: Heritage Christian Eagles vs. Indianapolis Kings

Heritage Christian has gone a perfect 4-0 against Indianapolis Kings recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Eagles will host Indianapolis Kings at 6:00 p.m. Heritage Christian will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Last Wednesday, Heritage Christian made easy work of Indianapolis Bishop Chatard and carried off an 8-2 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Eagles have posted against the Trojans since April 11, 2022.

Kellen Compton tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Will Ambrose was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Luke Strege, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Indianapolis Kings has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.82 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They came up short against Greenwood, falling 19-0. The game marked the first time this year in which Indianapolis Kings was not able to get on the board.

Indianapolis Kings' loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Heritage Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Heritage Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Indianapolis Kings when the teams last played back in May of 2023, winning 11-7. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do Indianapolis Kings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
