Basketball Recap: Murrieta Valley Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Murrieta Valley was the 73-52 winner over Elsinore when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Nighthawks fell 65-60 to the Tigers on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Nighthawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 356th, while the Tigers are ranked 37th).

Kamrynn Nathan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Elsinore, putting up 22 points and five steals. Nathan's big performance that evening made it 13 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Jecorey Jones was another key player, earning 16 points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Murrieta Valley now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Elsinore, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Murrieta Valley will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Vista Murrieta at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026. As for Elsinore, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 75-39 win against Vista del Lago on the 11th.
