SEED DC suffers third straight loss at home

Recap: SEED DC vs. Jackson-Reed Tigers

On Friday, SEED DC faced the Jackson-Reed Tigers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. SEED DC suffered a tough 60-35 defeat at the hands of Jackson-Reed. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat SEED DC has suffered yet this season.

Kryslynn Stewart was her usual excellent self, scoring 12 points along with six steals for Jackson-Reed. Stewart is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Sara Mesikir was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.

SEED DC bumped their record down to 6-3 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Jackson-Reed, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-5-1.

SEED DC will head out on the road to take on Washington Latin Public Charter School at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Washington Latin Public Charter School: 24.9, SEED DC: 28.3) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Jackson-Reed, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Banneker at 5:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in District of Columbia (Banneker is ranked ninth, while Jackson-Reed is ranked third).
