Dr. Maya Angelou Community had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Jefferson Democrats by a score of 3-1 on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Phoenix: when they faced off against the Democrats on March 5th, they had to take a 3-0 defeat.

Dr. Maya Angelou Community had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-13, 25-20, 25-17.

Dr. Maya Angelou Community's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Jefferson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.
