Logan/Palco falls despite strong effort from Mara Kats

Recap: Logan/Palco vs. Rawlins County Buffaloes

Logan/Palco suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Tuesday. They suffered a rough 60-36 loss at the hands of Rawlins County. While losing is never fun, Logan/Palco can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 306th, while Rawlins County is ranked 99th).

Despite the loss, Logan/Palco still got an impressive performance from Mara Kats, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lylah Voss, who scored six points along with six rebounds and two blocks.

It was another big night for Kayte Shively, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and three steals for Rawlins County. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shively has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tayten Dewey, who scored 14 points along with seven assists and two steals.

Logan/Palco has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Rawlins County, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Logan/Palco will take on Triplains/Brewster at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rawlins County, they will be playing at home against St. Francis at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Francis and Rawlins County are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
