Basketball Game Preview: Kern Valley Broncs vs. Templeton Eagles

The Kern Valley Broncs and the Templeton Eagles will round out the year against one another at at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Kern Valley turned things around against Boron last Friday. They strolled past the Bobcats with points to spare, taking the game 52-37.

Kern Valley's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Aiden Madden, who posted 18 points, and Carson Parks, who earned 11 points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Bryce Smoot, who had four points and five steals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Templeton). They wrapped up 2024 with a 66-50 win over Lone Pine. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on five straight.

Templeton is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.4 points per game. As for Kern Valley, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
