Basketball Recap: Rockport-Fulton Takes a Loss

Rockport-Fulton was the 62-56 winner over Jones when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Rockport-Fulton Pirates took a 61-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jones Trojans on Tuesday. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Rockport-Fulton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brian Kizer Jr went 11 for 19 en route to 26 points in addition to six boards and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kizer Jr has scored all season.

Rockport-Fulton's defeat dropped their record down to 15-17. As for Jones, they pushed their record up to 16-12 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Ingleside the next time they take the court. Rockport-Fulton will host Ingleside at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, while Jones will head out to face them at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
