Volleyball Recap: Lewisburg Comes Up Short

Lewisburg suffered their biggest loss since September 24, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to Lake Cormorant. The Patriots have struggled against Lake Cormorant recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Lake Cormorant scored at least 21 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-23, 25-23.

Leading Lake Cormorant to victory were Emily Huerta and Kayla Gonzalez. Huerta had 14 digs and one assist, while Gonzalez had 11 assists and four digs. That's the most digs Huerta has posted over her last six matches.

Lewisburg's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Lake Cormorant, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Coming up, Lewisburg will take on Southaven at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Cormorant, they will be playing at home against Hernando at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
