Soccer Game Preview: Edcouch-Elsa vs. Harlingen South

The Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets will head out to take on the Harlingen South Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Harlingen South will be up against a hot Edcouch-Elsa team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went Edcouch-Elsa's way against Weslaco East on Monday as Edcouch-Elsa made off with a 5-1 win. Considering the Yellowjackets have won three contests by more than three goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Harlingen South kept a clean sheet against Mercedes on Wednesday. They blew past the Tigers 5-0. Winning may never get old, but the Hawks sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Edcouch-Elsa's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. As for Harlingen South, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
