Basketball Recap: Boerne-Champion's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

Boerne-Champion entered their game against New Braunfels on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Boerne-Champion Chargers took a 52-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Braunfels Unicorns. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Chargers came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Unicorns are ranked 206th).

Boerne-Champion's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-4. As for New Braunfels, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

Boerne-Champion will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wagner at 1:00 p.m. on December 31st. As for New Braunfels, they will finish 2024 at home by hosting Canyon at 1:00 p.m. on December 28th.
