Baseball Game Preview: Negaunee Miners vs. Marquette Sentinels

The Negaunee Miners will face off against the Marquette Sentinels at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Negaunee's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Marquette's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Negaunee is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Escanaba just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against the Eskymos, falling 9-1. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Miners couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Marquette fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Gladstone on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Braves by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Sentinels have suffered since April 20, 2024.

Marquette's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Negaunee, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
