Baseball Recap: La Crosse Central Comes Up Short

La Crosse Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tomah Timberwolves. The Riverhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Timberwolves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Jude Alvarado was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. La Crosse Central is 2-1 when Alvarado posts three or more hits, but 2-15 otherwise. Dawson Lapic was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run.

La Crosse Central's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Tomah, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-14.

Coming up, La Crosse Central will welcome Viroqua at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tomah will be paying especially close attention to the Riverhawks' matchup: after the Riverhawks face off against the Blackhawks, they'll take on Tomah again at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
